What are the procedures for drop-off and pick-up? Upon arrival, parents are asked to "sign in" each child on the clipboard located just inside the front door and note the time of arrival. Parents are also asked to "sign out" each child and note the time of departure. No child is to be taken from the premises without notifying the child's teacher and signing them out. Parents are asked to provide prior notification when someone other than the child's parents are picking them up from the Kidz Kollege. The person picking up your child will be asked to show proper identification (picture ID) and we must have that authorization on file. Does the Kidz Kollege have a dress code? We ask that all children wear socks and tennis shoes, not sandals or flip-flops, in order to keep them safe on the playground. Parents should also provide a complete change of clothes for each child to be kept in their cubby. Please label each item with your child's name and place it in a Ziploc bag. These items will need to be changed as your child grows and as the seasons change. Are there specific items that I will need to send for my child? When you enroll your child at the Kidz Kollege, you will receive a supply list based on their age. Parents are expected to provide diapers, pull-ups, and baby wipes for their child. You will also be asked to provide a crib size sheet to cover your child's mat at naptime and a light-weight blanket. The sheet and blanket will be sent home at the end of each week to be washed. What activities do you provide for the children each week? The daily schedule includes the Pledge of Allegiance, Bible pledge, Bible stories, singing, free play outside, centers, and instructional time. The children also have Art, Spanish, Chapel, and Music each week taught by different teachers. Do you have an Inclement Weather Policy? We follow the same schedule as Wake County Schools, whether it be a two hour delay or cancellations. There may be times when the schools are closed, but it's obvious that the roads are clear enough to allow for safe and normal traffic. During these times, we will try to open for the convenience of our working parents. We have an automated phone call system that will be utilized to inform you in these situations. Can I send in a special treat for my child's birthday? Yes. You can send in a treat such as cupcakes, cookies, or popsicles. Please note that regulations will not allow for homemade items. All treats should be store bought and individually wrapped if possible. Do you work on potty training at the Kidz Kollege? We will work with your child on potty training when your child moves to the two year old classroom. During this time, we ask that you provide more than one change of clothing in case of an accident. Children must be potty trained before moving to the three year old classroom. Does the Kidz Kollege provide snacks and lunch? Each day the children are served a snack in the morning (around 9:00) and one in the afternoon (around 3:00). Lunch is served from 11:30 to 12:00 depending on the classroom that your child is in. A menu is provided to parents at the beginning of each month. What is your policy for sick children? Please do not bring sick children to the Kidz Kollege. If your child is running a fever or vomiting, they should stay home until they have been symptom free for 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medications.
